It’s back, everyone! No Depression is officially online

Here’s the cut and paste of their first e-blast.

Welcome to No Depression
Greetings to all our NoDepression.com mailing-list subscribers,

Thanks for signing up for our mailing-list, whether you’re a longtime reader from our print days or a recent arrival to our new website.

If you haven’t yet checked out NoDepression.com, come join us — we’ve posted quite a bit of content just since our launch two weeks ago, including:

* A column by Don McLeese on Lucinda Williams, whose new album Little Honey comes out today on Lost Highway;

* Lloyd Sachs’ look at the star-studded new roots-oriented release by legendary jazz bassist Charlie Haden;

* A multitude of reports on the recent Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco;

* Paul Cantin’s interview with the Silos’ Walter Salas-Humara and author Jonathan Lethem about their recent collaborative project I’m Not Jim

* ND co-founder and “curmudgeon emeritus” Grant Alden’s provocative take on a controversial song from the new Cherryholmes album;

…and plenty more.

As for the archives — our team of trained chimpanzees is diligently HTML-coding those thousands of files from our 75 back-issues right now. We’ll be posting those pieces as we go forward, and will have the full lot of it up on the site as soon as possible.

Meantime, we’ll continue posting multiple new items to the site on a daily basis — a new column from one of our esteemed columnists every weekday, a new record review every day (including weekends!), frequent live reviews, and news items as we get ‘em. So bookmark us and check in often, we aim to keep you informed and entertained.

Also, don’t forget about our upcoming NoDepression.com launch shows at various venues across the country over the next two weeks! You’ll find a list of those shows HERE — and if you’re planning to attend the Nashville show with Lucinda Williams on October 17, you can get a discounted rate on the ticket HERE

And, finally, the first No Depression bookazine is now for sale on our site — you can order it HERE. You’ll also find “sample” pieces of two articles from the bookazine on our website: Peter Blackstock’s feature on Basia Bulat and Lloyds Sachs’ record review of Rodney Crowell.

We’ll keep you informed and updated each Tuesday with our weekly newsletter. Till the next time, then, visit us on the web, where — unlike on Wall Street — you can go where there’s No Depression….
